High Desert Wedding

On August 26th, 2017, Ryan and Saagar celebrated their wedding in Pioneertown, California, a stunning high-desert community near Joshua Tree National Park. The rugged, disarming beauty of the setting reflected their desire for a celebration that was authentic and unfiltered.

Saagar, as both groom and designer, drew from their shared histories to craft a deeply personal event. Ryan, raised in Indiana, and Saagar, who grew up as the only visible minority in a small farming town in Canada - both understood what it meant to be outsiders. Their journey of resilience and individuality shaped the vision for their day.

Blending influences from 1960s-70s Americana and Bollywood, the design celebrated their shared love of music and culture. Thousands of marigolds, embroidered saris, henna, whiskey, and pickup trucks created a vivid fusion of their worlds.

Vibrant, bold, and unapologetically personal, Saagar’s thoughtful design honored their unique story, crafting a wedding as dynamic and unforgettable as Ryan and Saagar themselves.
